Snoop Dogg revealed that him and other rappers were given the reality check of their lives by Dionne Warwick (Picture: WireImage)
Snoop Dogg recalled the moment Dionne Warwick showed him who’s boss after she staged an intervention for prominent rappers.
During the 90s, the Bad Decisions hitmaker – real name Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr – reigned supreme on the rap scene alongside artists such as the late Tupac Shakur and Nas.
However, Motown legend Dionne, 82, wasn’t here for the lyrics which often branded women as b*****s and h**s.
In the new CNN documentary Dionne Warwick: Don’t Make Me Over, the Walk on By singer and Snoop reflected on the moment Dionne set up a meeting for popular 90s rappers to share her concerns over the degrading content.
And according to the Drop It Like It’s Hot megastar, he was so intimidated by Queen Dionne, that him and his peers arrived at her driveway at 6:52 am – after Dionne stated they should arrive no later than 7 am.
‘We were kind of, like, scared and shook up,’ he said.

‘We’re powerful right now, but she’s been powerful forever. Thirty-some years in the game, in the big home with a lot of money and success.’
Dionne challenged the musicians to call her a ‘b***h’ to her face
‘These kids are expressing themselves, which they’re entitled to do,’ she said. ‘However, there’s a way to do it.’
Reflecting on what she told the group at the time, she added: ‘You guys are all going to grow up. You’re going have families. You’re going to have children. You’re going to have little girls, and one day that little girl is going to look at you and say, “Daddy, did you really say that? Is that really you?”
‘What are you going to say?’

Snoop later added that he was grateful Dionne ‘checked’ him.
‘We were the most gangsta as you could be, but that day at Dionne Warwick’s house, I believe we got out-gangstered that day,’ he explained.
