In the days between Christmas and New Year’s, many a TV show and film is binge-watched while lounging at home, with this year’s offerings including Treason, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery and Emily In Paris.
Today, ITVX is debuting a brand new reality show called Loaded in Paradise on the streaming platform, as a set of teams jet across Greece’s Aegean Islands in a competition that’s designed to test their cunning as well as their willpower.
So how does the show work? Here’s what you need to know.
How does ITVX’s new reality series Loaded in Paradise work?
In Loaded in Paradise, five sets of duos go up against each other with one aim – to get their hands on the coveted Gold Card.
It just so happens that all of the participants of the programme love living lives of luxury, and so trying to gain control of the Gold Card is that much more desirable to them, as without it, they’re tasked with living on far smaller budgets.

With the Gold Card, they have an extortionate amount of 50,000 euros at their disposal.
Only one pair can be in charge of the Gold Card at the time, giving them to splash the money on any luxuries that they wish.
That can be anything from fancy dinners to trips out lavish yachts, or jet skiing on the ocean.
However, they can’t just spend what they’d like without repercussions, as the other duos will be hot on their tail at every possible moment.
In case you were wondering – yes, the contestants do have a chance to meet their fellow competitors, doing so on neutral ground.

There is a Safehouse on the show, which is open to all at the end of each chase, where they get to meet, chat and suss out the competition.
Several of the contestants have plans to try and dupe the other stars of the series and to conceal their game-playing strategies.
However, there are some who are hoping to strike up holiday romances, so viewers will just have to see how that affects how the adventure unfolds.
As for whether there’s a main prize at the end of the tunnel, this fact has been kept under wraps by ITV, and will be uncovered as viewers tune in to watch the show.
However, we do know that there will be a so-called ‘big twist’ during the final chase, as each of the pairings go after the Gold Card one last time.
Loaded in Paradise airs exclusively on ITVX on Wednesday 28th December with all episodes available to stream in full for free
