Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield aren’t too impressed with the new Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Netflix documentary, and they don’t think the Royal Family will be too worried due to its lack of ‘bombshells’.
The first three episodes of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s tell-all documentary were released on Thursday, promising to give the public an insight into their personal lives.
In it, they claim that ‘salacious’ stories were ‘planted’ in the press in the lead-up to their 2018 wedding, as well as allegedly being told it was a ‘rite of passage’ for incoming members of the family to be subjected to backlash, as well as making other revelations about the difficulties they’ve faced in the public eye.
But discussing the documentary on This Morning on Thursday, hosts Phillip and Holly admitted they felt underwhelmed so far with what they had seen.
‘We are getting lots of access to them, but it’s not what we are horribly hungry for,’ Holly said.
Referencing the reports the couple was paid an eye-watering £71 million for the documentary, she added that people expected to be ‘floored, shocked and appalled’.

She said that, while there were still three episodes to come, if they followed the same ‘thread’, it would likely not be that controversial.
‘There’s no bombshell yet,’ Phil added.
‘There is nothing I would have thought that will rock the palace.’
However, he did call the documentary ‘well made, compelling and gripping in a lovely way’.
Viewers have been treated to plenty of interesting moments in the episodes, including when Harry claimed there was a ‘huge level of unconscious bias’ in the Royal family as he discussed the issue of racism and also referenced when Princess Michael of Kent wore a Blackamoor-style brooch to an event the Duchess of Sussex attended in 2017.
Meghan also spoke about meeting certain members of the Royal family for the first time, describing meeting the Queen as ‘a bit of a shock to the system’.
