With Griff Reynolds (Michael Condron) continuing to project false and racist views onto the residents of Coronation Street, he realises he has quite the fight on his hands due to one person in particular – Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon).
Over the past few weeks, Maria has been passionately working on a new refugee scheme, helping the likes of Daryan (Twana Omer) settle into Manchester and set up a hub in the community centre.
Said hub has attracted the attention of Griff and his extremist gang, who all believe Maria’s idea is having a negative impact on the local people.
In order to try and put a stop to it opening, an online petition has been created and as this new video shows, Max is impressed as he explains to Griff that it’s already gathered a lot of signatures.
Griff feels a sense of pride for Max and doesn’t hesitate when it comes to filling his head with more lies, telling the teenager that they’re at war and making out that there is so much at stake.
Annoyed when Max brings up his neighbour, Griff issues a warning about Maria, implying that she doesn’t know who she is dealing with.
New pictures show further trouble for Maria and Alya (Sair Khan) soon – another person who has pointed out that the gang’s opinions are completely wrong.

Griff looks less than impressed as he emerges from the car with his hands in the air, but are Maria and Alya actually part of the set-up?
Will Griff put Maria in danger?
