The comedy roast on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK drew cackling laughs and tumbleweeds in equal measure, as the queens vied for a chance to reach next week’s grand finale.
However, one queen was sadly told by RuPaul to sashay away in the episode 9 semi-final, with a spot in the final four slipping through her fingertips.
Following the roast challenge – which saw the queens tear down their fellow competitors and judges during a spectacle titled The General Erection – it was determined that Pixie Polite and Black Peppa would face the dreaded lip sync off, while Cheddar Gorgeous, Danny Beard and Jonbers Blonde safely made it through to the last round.
Performing to Queen’s Another One Bites The Dust in front of the judging panel, which included extra special guest star Olly Alexander, in the end Black Peppa was saved for a second week running, meaning that it was Pixie’s time to head back home.
This marked the fourth time Black Peppa had survived the lip sync, so there should be no doubt in anyone’s mind that they’re a bona fide lip sync assassin.
During the judges’ critiques, RuPaul expressed disappointment over Pixie’s roasting performance, given she’s known for being an extremely witty, quick-thinking queen.

‘Pixie, when the roast challenge came up, I thought this is going to be an opportunity for her to really let loose,’ the head judge said.
‘You are naturally funny and I didn’t get any of that… I felt like you were not being you. Your own natural funniness.’
Years and Years singer Olly admitted he found it difficult to understand Pixie’s jokes because she ‘spoke quite fast’, but he ‘liked and appreciated’ her runway look for being ‘a bit different from the other queens’ for the Pretty In Punk theme.
When Ru revealed Pixie’s fate, she told her: ‘Pixie Polite, thank you for spreading your pixie dust all over this competition. Now, Sashay Away.’

Pixie responded: ‘I just want to say thank you so much. This experience has been more than I ever dreamed it could be. I love you all so much. Goodbye.’
The 29-year-old from Brighton said she was ‘happy to have made it this far in the competition’, stating: ‘I’m gutted to not have made it right to the end and that very last moment but they were all fabulous. I just wasn’t the judge’s cup of tea today, that’s all.

‘There’s been a lot of positives I can take away from this experience and I think in the future, I’m going to be a very different Pixie and I’m happy about that.’
In true Pixie fashion, she couldn’t leave the Werk Room without adorning the mirror with a wisecracking quip, writing in a message to the final four finalists: ‘You’re a fabulous top 4. But #pixiewasrobbed. Very rude.’
Speaking in a post-exit interview, Pixie revealed that she’s found it ‘interesting watching myself reflected in the mirror of reality TV’ while watching the episodes as they come out.
‘I think it has shown me someone who tries their best but is also very insecure and sensitive. I think it serves to show why it is important to empower ourselves and to share our experiences especially for the LGBTQ community where so much trauma exists,’ she said.
‘The show serves an important purpose in shining a light on these sorts of issues.’
The Drag Race UK season 4 grand finale airs next Thursday at 9pm on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer.
