They’re fearing what will happen next (Pictures: ITV)
Samson Dingle (Sam Hall) admitted to Sam (James Hooton) that he really doesn’t want to be a father to baby Esther in Emmerdale.
We knew this and have done for ages, but because Samson has been reacting and behaving horrifically, this was the first time he had actually sat down and opened up about how becoming a dad at such a young age really makes him feel.
Prior to this, Samson was continuing to try and get Esther removed from his life by contacting social services and making a complaint, which meant a social worker had to visit Amelia (Daisy Campbell) and examine her daughter to ensure she was living in a good home and being cared for.
This ordeal, so early on in her life as a mother, made Amelia feel awful and once word got round that Samson was responsible, Dan and Charity (Emma Atkins) didn’t hesitate in making their way over to the Dingle household to confront the teen.
Because this was happening weeks after Sam had been rushed to hospital, the stress and anger caused him to collapse.
Thankfully, Sam was fine and later, he sat down with his son to speak about his recent actions.
Samson explained to his dad that he doesn’t want to be a dad yet and right now, he feels trapped.

He went on to admit that he doesn’t want to live a permanent life in the village – he wants to travel and go to clubs, get drunk and party on beaches, working just to simply provide for a baby is something that doesn’t appeal to Samson – at all.
Now with a better understanding of how his son feels, Sam sat with Lydia (Karen Blick) and feared for the future, aware if they continue seeing baby Esther, it may cause Samson to spiral even further out of control, and they could lose him for good.
But who will they choose?
Samson told his dad that he doesn’t want to be a father.
