At least 28 dead in nursery knife and gun attack

Breaking news – at least 28 people have been killed at a pre-school child daycare centre in Thailand, police have said.

The gunman – a former police officer, is still at large following the attack in Nong Bua Lamphu, in the northeast of the country.

Both adults and children have been killed in the attack.

The attacker shot and stabbed the victims and is now on the run, police said.

It’s not clear what the apparent motive is for the attack, but reports across Thailand suggest the officer had recently been fired.
