JOKER DIRECTOR BLAMES “WOKE CULTURE” FOR KILLING COMEDY
WTX News reports Joker director, Todd Phillips has said “woke culture” has made comedies too hard to make. And it’s the reason he’s moved away from comedy. The director of films such as The Hangover trilogy and Old School said he does not want to argue “with 30 million people on Twitter.” He said: “Go try to be funny nowadays with this woke culture.” Adding: “There were articles written about why comedies don’t work anymore – I’ll tell you why, because all the f****** funny guys are like, ‘f*** this s***, because I don’t want to offend you’.”

JAMES FRANCO ACCUSED OF SEXUAL MISCONDUCT BY TWO OF HIS FORMER ACTING STUDENTS
Sky News says James Franco is being sued by two of his former acting students. They have accused the actor of sexual misconduct. And say he abused his position to engage in “sexually charged behaviour towards female students” by “dangling the opportunity for roles” in his films. The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles, state the abuses took place at Franco’s Studio 4, which opened in 2014 and closed in 2017. It also says female students were pushed into taking part in explicit sex schemes “that went far beyond the standards in the industry.”

ROBERT DE NIRO SUED BY EX-EMPLOYEE ACCUSED OF ‘BINGE-WATCHING FRIENDS’
WTX News reports Hollywood actor Robert De Niro is being counter-sued for gender discrimination. In the suit, his ex-employee said De Niro used sexist language and was underpaid compared to her male co-workers. De Niro had previously filed a suit against the employee for apparently binge-watching Friends whilst at work and embezzling money. In response to the counter-suit, a rep for De Niro said the allegations were “absurd.”

SINGING LOS ANGELES HOMELESS WOMAN STUNS SOCIAL MEDIA
BBC News says a Los Angeles police officer stopped to film a homeless woman singing operatically in a subway. And the footage has since gone viral. Emily Zamourka is seen in the video singing Puccini’s O Mio Babbino Caro. The LAPD posted the video on its Twitter account. And has been viewed over a million times. One fan tweeted: “Her voice is amazing! I hope for a great life. Thank you to the fantastic police officer who recognized the beauty in her voice and shared it on social media. This story just made my day!”
