Contrary to recent reports, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United target Youssoufa Moukoko is not close to signing a new deal with Borussia Dortmund according to his agent.
Moukoko has been the subject of significant transfer interest over the past week off the back of his breakthrough season at Dortmund and record-breaking appearance at the 2022 World Cup.
The striker has six goals and four assists in 14 Bundesliga games so far this campaign and at 18 he became the youngest player to represent Germany at a World Cup when he came off the bench in the group stage against Japan.
His contract expires at the end of the season and it was believed that Chelsea were leading the race for his signature ahead of Liverpool and United.
But on Thursday, reports in Germany began to emerge that Moukoko was close to agreeing new terms to extend his stay at Dortmund.
However, Moukoko’s agent has now claimed that this is false and that a new deal is nowhere near completion though talks are ongoing, giving hope to the Blues, Reds and Red Devils.
Patrick Williams also played down the speculation that his player was seeking a huge wage increase from a reported £4,000-a-week to £115,000-a-week.

‘I can confirm that we are not about to conclude a contract extension with Borussia Dortmund,’ Williams told Sky Germany.
‘I can also assure you that the numbers that are circulating are simply not correct and Youssoufa was never offered that much. But we are still in contact with Dortmund and will see what the next few days bring.
‘A player like Youssoufa is interesting for every top club in the world. Especially when he is free and has a future in the German national team.’
Chelsea and United are especially keen on signing a new striker in January, with Graham Potter looking to replace Armando Broja who recently suffered a season-ending knee injury, while Erik ten Hag has to fill a Cristiano Ronaldo shaped void.
