Rhea Ripley earned an historic Royal Rumble win (Picture: WWE)
Rhea Ripley made WWE history with her dominating win in the 2023 Royal Rumble.
The Judgment Day superstar entered at number one and went the distance as she and Liv Morgan – the number two entrant – found themselves as the final pair of competitors in the match.
Rhea was able to eliminate Liv in a chaotic ending with Asuka also coming close to victory but just narrowly missing out despite a very strong showing.
In the end, it was the Nightmare standing tall and she became the first woman in history to win a Royal Rumble from the number one spot.
Overall, she’s the fourth superstar ever to do so, following on from Edge, Shawn Michaels and Chris Benoit.
Along with etching her name in the record books, Rhea has also booked herself a prized ticket to WrestleMania 39 where she will face either the Raw or SmackDown Women’s Champion.
As it stands, Bianca Belair and Charlotte Flair are on top for the red and blue brand respectively, and either match would deliver something special for Rhea’s rise to the top.
