DEATH TOLL RISES TO 26 IN SOMALIA HOTEL TERRORIST ATTACK
American Media giant, CNN reports on the rising death toll of the Somalia hotel terrorist attack. At least 26 people have been killed and 56 injured when a car bomb exploded in the suicide blast. An assault team then stormed in a hotel and locked into a battle with security for 12 hours.
The attackers were shot dead whilst the car bomber died when the explosives detonated. A popular Youtube star, tribal elders and journalists amongst those who were killed. CNN reports of the 26 killed, two were American, one Canadian and one was British.

‘GO BACK TO WHERE YOU CAME FROM’: TRUMPS RACIST TWEETS TO CONGRESSWOMEN
Aljazeera news leads with President Trump’s Sunday twitter attack. The US President has been labelled a racist following his tweets telling Democratic congresswomen to go back to where they came from, despite them being American born.
Democrats rebuked Trump’s tweets and House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi said the President “wants to make America white again.” Fellow Republican, Justin Amash called the President’s tweets “racist and disgusting.”
This isn’t the first time the President has been accused of racism. His political career kicked off when he falsely suggested Obama was not born in the US. Trumps Presidential campaign accused many Mexican immigrants of being “rapists.”

VIOLENCE ERUPTS IN PARIS: POLICE FIRE TEAR GAS AT YELLOW VEST PROTESTERS AFTER BASTILLE DAY PARADE
Arab News reports on the violence that erupted in Paris following France’s national Bastille day celebrations. Police fired tear gas at the Yellow Vests, who left their vests at home, as they infiltrated the event. There were shouts for the President to resign.
Loud bangs, hurled objects and fires became the scenes in the Capital as police desperately tried to disperse the protesters. The protesters attempted to block the roads with metal barricades, dustbins and debris. Some 152 protesters and their leaders have been arrested.

INDIA’S SPACE MISSION CALLED-OFF LAST MINUTE DUE TO ‘TECHNICAL SNAG’
Russian broadcaster, RT News leads with India’s Lunar mission’s last-minute cancellation due to ‘technical snag.’ The space mission was set to explore the unexplored regions of the moon and was set to be the fourth country to soft-land a spacecraft on the moon.
No details have been given about the exact technical issue or when the mission is set to relaunch. The mission was called off less than an hour before launch.

TURKEY DEPLOYS WEAPONS NEAR SYRIA IN REACTION TO THREAT OF US SANCTIONS
Significant deployment of military weapons has taken place near the Turkish-Syrian border. Arab News suggests the “Turkish operation into Syria might be linked with the risk of approaching US sanctions through the Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA) over the purchase of Russia’s S-400 missile defence system”.
“If the US decides to impose harsh sanctions that will cripple the Turkish economy, Turkey can go for a unilateral military operation in Northern Syria. Sanctions might trigger a new military operation in the east of the Euphrates,” Mehmet Emin Cengiz, a research assistant at the Al Sharq Forum, has said.

OUTRAGE AS ISRAELI MINISTER SAYS GAY CONVERSION IS POSSIBLE
CNN leads with shocking statements from Israeli Cabinet Minister Rafi Peretz who suggested gay conversion therapy “is possible.” He added that he “did it” himself in the past.
His comments have sparked outrage from the gay community, politicians and the medical community. Peretz later tried to clarify his comments, saying he did not say it was necessary to send children to conversion therapy and he would continue to support all children regardless of sexuality.
The leader of the opposition tweeted his disapproval of the Minister’s initial comment. “You are not the Minister of Education, you are the Minister of Darkness.” He said.
