TRUMP VIOLENTLY ATTACKS MEDIA FIGURES IN SUPPORTER’S EVENT MEME: NYT
France 24 says an internet meme that shows Donald Trump shooting and stabbing media characters and political opponents was shown at a conference for his supporters. In the clip, Trump’s head is superimposed on a man opening fire in the “Church of Fake News” at people whose faces have been replaced with logos of outlets including CNN, the Washington Post and NBC TV. A spokesman for Trump’s 2020 campaign has told the Times that the “video was not produced by the campaign, and we do not condone violence.”

US TROOPS ‘LEAVE’ KOBANI AS TURKISH INCURSION ADVANCES AND KURDS MAKE DEAL WITH DAMASCUS
RT News says US troops have reportedly withdrawn from their observation post in Kobani as the Turkish Army advances deeper south and Damascus says it has sent its military to the area. The pullout reportedly began after 3 pm local time, although there has been no confirmation from the Pentagon. The American observation post in the strategic town came under fire on Saturday – it’s unclear if it was deliberate. US Secretary of Defense said the US is planning to evacuate about 1,000 troops from northern Syria. “We have American forces likely caught between two opposing advancing armies, and it’s a very untenable situation,” he said. “There is no wat they could stop 15,000 Turks from proceeding south.”

RECOVERY BEGINS AS JAPAN’S TYPHOON HAGIBIS LEAVES A TRAIL OF DEATH AND DESTRUCTION
CNN reports Typhoon Hagibis has weakened to a tropical depression as it continues to move across central Japan, leaving 31 people dead and 186 injured. The storm made landfall just before 7 p.m on Saturday on the Izu Penninsula. More than 230,000 people were evacuated ahead of the storm and emergency orders were issued for many cities. Now, around 27,000 Self-Defence Forces personnel are taking on rescue operations. There is still a reported 14 people missing. Abe offered his “condolences for the people killed in the disaster and my sincere sympathy for the people affected by this disaster.” He added: “Now not only police, fire department and coast guard, but also 27,000 staff of the self-defence force are on rescue search for missing and supporting evacuation.”
