KOREA TEST-FIRES ‘SUPER LARGE MULTIPLE ROCKET LAUNCHER’
Arab News says North Korea test-fired a super large multiple rocket launcher into the sea, late on Saturday. The test makes it the seventh test in a month as talks to scrap their nuclear arsenal struggles to make progress. The weapon tested was reportedly a newly developed “super-large multiple rocket launcher”. Kim Jong-Un oversaw the test and called the device a “great weapon”. It has been reported Kim Jong-Un said North Korea must up its development of weapons to counter the “ever-mounting military threats and pressure offensive of hostile forces.”

AMAZON FIRES: BRAZIL SENDS IN TROOPS & AIRCRAFTS
France 24 reports on Sunday, Brazil deployed two aircrafts to douse fires destroying parts of the Amazon rainforest. The planes have started to drop thousands of litres of water as hundreds of new blazes were ignited. There has been a global uproar over the fires. Experts say increased land clearing during the months-long dry season aggravated the problem this year. “It gets worse every year – this year, the smoke has been really serious,” Deliana Amorim told AFP. Seven states have requested the army’s help in the Amazon, where more than 43,000 troops are based and available to combat fires.

TWO ISRAELI DRONES CRASH IN BEIRUT
Aljazeera reports the leader of the Hezbollah movement has said two Israeli drones that fell over the southern suburbs of Beirut were on a “suicide mission.” Adding, Hezbollah will do what it takes to prevent Israel from sending more drone to Beirut. “Hezbollah will not allow such an aggression,” he said on Sunday. “The time when Israeli aircraft come and bombard parts of Lebanon is over.” His speech came hours after a drone crashed into the Lebanese capital. A second drone exploded in the air. Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri said: “The new aggression…constitutes a threat to regional stability and an attempt to push the situation towards further tension.”

IRAN MINISTER MAKES SURPRISE G7 APPEARANCE LEAVING THE US BLINDSIDED
NBC News says The White House was blindsided by the surprise appearance of Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javid Zarif on Sunday. Zarif was in the coastal French town where President Trump and other world leaders are meeting. A senior administration official made clear the president was not caught off guard by Zarif’s arrival in Biarritz but his aides were not impressed with the French invitation. When asked about Zarif’s surprise appearance, President Trump said he had no comment. Zarif arrived in Biarritz at the invitation of the French foreign minister “to continue talks” between Iranian and French governments.
