TRUDEAU’S LIBERALS TO FORM CANADIAN MINORITY GOVERNMENT: TV PROJECTIONS
Arab News says according to TV projections Candian PM Justin Trudeau’s ruling Liberals will form a minority government. The Liberals were leading or elected in 146 out of 304 electoral districts that had reported results by about 10:30 pm EDT on Monday. The PM needed to win 170 seats to secure a second majority government. A minority government leaves Trudeau in a weakened position. It will leave him needing the support of left-leaning opposition parties to push through key legislation.

TRUMP ‘FULLY PREPARED’ FOR MILITARY ACTION AGAINST TURKEY – POMPEO
RT News reports President Trump is “fully prepared” to use military force against Turkey if “needed,” Mike Pompeo has said. But adding Washington prefers to use its “diplomatic powers.” The Secretary of State stopped short of revealing what action on Turkey’s part would constitute such a “need.” He told CNBC “we prefer peace to war”. Adding: “ but in the event that kinetic action or military action is needed, you should know that President Trump is fully prepared to undertake action.”

WEST IS PAYING PRICE FOR SUPPORTING HONG KONG RIOTS, CHINESE STATE MEDIA SAYS
CNN says the Chinese government and state-run media have accused Western countries of hypocrisy in their attitude to violent protests in Spain, Chile and Hong Kong over the past week. Some have suggested that demonstrations in Europe and South America are direct results of Western tolerance of the Hong Kong unrest, now in its 20th week. China’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said the response by Western countries to the protests showed “democracy and human rights are only a pretentious cover for Western interference in Hong Kong affairs.”
