A woman who went on Channel 4’s no-holds-barred programme Know Your S**t: Inside Our Guts left the hosts in shock when she revealed she can go weeks without doing a poo.
In the new series, which is hosted by identical twins Alana and Lisa Macfarlane, 36-year-old Emerald paid a visit to the ‘Poo HQ’ to open up about the bowel problems she’s been having.
The vintage model explained that she doesn’t go for a number two on the toilet very often, sharing: ‘Sometimes it can be a couple of weeks, and then I’m getting bloating, I get gassy.
‘Maybe once a month I have a bad bowel where I’m quite in pain and it does feel like I’m constipated, or just swollen. I’ve not come from a family that speaks about those kinds of things. It’s just awkward.’
While speaking to Alana and Lisa, the sisters were left looking gobsmacked by Emerald’s admission about her lack of toilet activity.
She added that it can cause difficulties through her line of work as a model, as she may look bloated for photoshoots, and it has had an impact on her social life as well.

Emerald paid a visit to a dietician on the programme, admitting that she was worried about potential long-lasting ‘damage’ that may have been caused to her body.
After submitting a stool sample, it was discovered that the model supposedly had ‘a lot of bacteria associated with anxiety, low mood and ADHD’.
What’s more, the dietician explained that onions and garlic can cause bloating – resulting in Emerald admitting she includes garlic in almost everything she cooks.
After being advised to avoid onions and garlic before her photoshoots and to alter the position in which she sat on the toilet, Emerald took part in a transit time test – where she was given a muffin made blue with food colouring, to see how long it would take to pass from her mouth of the other end.
Six weeks later Emerald returned to Poo HQ and revealed she’s now able to do a poo around two to three times a week, and even had four consecutive days where she was able to.
She noticed the difference from omitting garlic from her diet and making sure to relax her body when she went to the toilet.
Emerald also revealed that it took around 60 hours for the blue muffin to come out the other end in the transit test, with the dietician explaining the aim would be to get that down to 30 hours, and could even do so by eating sweetcorn.
At the end of the programme, it was revealed on a title card that Emerald is ‘hardly bloating and still pooing multiple times a week’, and has now purchased a toilet stool to help with the position in which she sits on the toilet, which she takes away with her.
