A woman was left with serious injuries after falling from the balcony of a shopping centre and landing on a pensioner – with both people rushed to hospital.
Emergency services were called to The Glades in Bromley, south east London shortly after 2pm yesterday to reports of someone falling from a height.
A woman, believed to be in her 20s, is understood to have fallen from the shopping centre balcony and landed on a second woman, thought to be in her 80s.
The younger woman was taken to a major trauma centre in south London, however, her condition is not thought to be life-threatening.
The older woman’s injuries were treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to a local hospital.
Police have launched an investigation and are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant to come forward.
The shopping centre banned unaccompanied children by hiring bouncers, it was reported earlier this month.
