A woman has been left baffled after discovering a note on her car from disgruntled neighbours who are furious at her for parking on a road near her house.
Lauren Ball cannot park directly outside her own house in Denton, near Manchester, due to double yellow lines along the road.
As a result, she has to leave her car on the nearby Becker Close when she gets home.
But on Thursday, Ms Ball came across an aggressive note left on her windscreen from another local telling her she should go elsewhere.
The note read: ‘We are getting fed up of you thinking you can park where you want!
‘You don’t live on Becker Close at all. You live on the front, you don’t park on here. You need to use your car park.
‘You use other people’s parking space when they need them.’

After sharing a picture of the note she’d received in a local community Facebook group, hundreds of people commented saying they’d also had the same problem as her.
Ms Ball said: ‘I live on a main road with double yellows so unfortunately my only option is to park on side roads. What’s frustrating is I’m always really considerate of other people.
‘I found the quietest road around me, I don’t park in anyone’s space, in front of anyone’s house or in anyone’s way, I also pay my tax.’

She was also disappointed at the neighbour who left the note for not speaking to her face-to-face about the parking problems in the area.
‘The person has clearly been watching me,’ she said. ‘So if they had approached me instead of writing an anonymous note they would understand this.
‘Since it was put in the Denton and community chat it’s come to my attention that I am not the first person that has had this note. A lady who lives on that street had her friend over and he also received the note.’

People in the Denton and Haughton Green Community Group on Facebook were quick to agree with Ms Ball.
One commented: ‘Unbelievable!! You pay your car tax, you can park where you want as long as you’re not blocking anywhere.’
Another wrote: ‘It’s amazing how many people don’t have the slightest clue about parking rights outside their homes.’
A useful guide from the RAC outlines exactly where you can and can’t park legally, according to the Highway Code.
It explains that if there are double yellow lines, like Ms Ball has outside her house, it means ‘parking and waiting are not permitted at any time’.
When it comes to parking in a road outside or near another person’s property, the RAC says: ‘It is perfectly legal to park outside someone’s house, unless the vehicle is blocking a driveway or a wheel is over a dropped kerb.
‘Where no parking controls exist, drivers do not have an “automatic spot” for parking outside their homes.’
Essentially, the Highway Code sets out a number of clear rules about how and where you can park your car – but none of them prohibit drivers from parking in a different road to the one you live on.
Last week, a woman was left ‘shaken’ in Oldham after finding a ‘threatening’ note on her car for parking outside someone’s house for a few hours.
