A woman has died after a house fire in Manchester.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed a 50-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene in Edale Avenue, Moston at around 12.10pm this afternoon.
Police said the woman’s next-of-kin have been informed and their enquiries are ongoing.
Emergency services remain at the scene, where part of the road has been closed by police with an area cordoned off.
Fire crews and an ambulance were also in attendance.

An air ambulance was seen landing in the nearby area, whilst CSI teams conducted searches within the cordon.
In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said: ‘At around 12.10pm today (Thursday 20 July 2023), police were called to a reports of a fire at an address on Edale Ave, Moston.
‘Emergency services attended and sadly a 50-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
‘Her next-of-kin has been informed and enquiries are ongoing at this stage.
‘Anyone with information should call 0161 856 4038 quoting 1436 of 20/7/2023. Details can be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.’
