For the first time in forever… it’s Coronation Day!

To celebrate the historic occasion of King Charles’ crowning, Metro has teamed up with The Lane to offer one lucky reader the chance to win a luxurious day out for four.

    The day out will include:

    A sumptuous, Regency-themed afternoon tea

Fascinating tour of the historic Theatre Royal Drury Lane

VIP tickets to Disney’s Frozen – with star treatment before the show from a dedicated Red Coat Butler.

Your royal treatment will begin in the marble-lined Grand Saloon with a decadent Regency-themed Afternoon Tea concocted by London’s baker to the stars, Lily Vanilli.

With a cup of Rare Tea Company’s finest blend in hand, tuck into savoury delights including puff pastry sausage rolls made with Cornish sausage meat, roast bacon lardons and a cider vinegar deglaze and caviar-topped Lapsang-souchong glazed salmon, Lily’s signature scones with whipped cream and homemade jams, and finish with a selection of decadent cakes and desserts topped with ornate, gold-dusted decorations inspired by the lavish surroundings.

An afternoon tea fit for a King

The only theatre in the world still operating under a genuine royal charter and having been visited by every reigning monarch since 1663, the Theatre Royal Drury Lane is brimming with royal history. It’s even where God Save The King was played for the first time – 278 years ago.

On your immersive tour of the theatre, you’ll see its two Royal Boxes (the result of a spat between King George III and his Prince Regent), hear tales of the torrid love affair between Charles II and his mistress Nell Gywn, and visit the King’s Gallery, the Royal Retiring Room and Secret Tunnels, which are otherwise off limits to the public.

You might even meet one of over 500 resident ghosts that haunt the theatre…

The theatrical fun doesn’t stop there! Like a true VIP, you’ll be greeted by a dedicated Red Coat Butler and whisked away to the Royal Room for pre-show champagne and nibbles before entering the magical world of Arendelle for a spectacular performance of Disney’s Frozen.

The multi-award-winning musical brings to life a world of sumptuous beauty, humour and iconic music in a jaw-dropping production to melt hearts of all ages. Frozen The Musical will defy all expectations on an unforgettable journey packed with thrilling surprises, hilarious characters and soaring music, including twelve new songs written especially for the show, alongside the worldwide smash-hit, ‘Let It Go’.

    What you could win

    Regency Afternoon Tea for 4
    Theatre Tour for 4
    Frozen tickets for 4
Gold star experience for 4 – includes being greeted and hosted by a Red Coat Butler, access to the Royal Room (available 1 hour before show time and during interval), pre-show champagne and savoury snack, interval champagne, dessert platter and ice-cream, complimentary show programme and unlimited soft drinks (for kids).
