The Independent – William wades in: Too many have been killed in Gaza

The Independent says Prince William’s rare intervention calling for the conflict to end in Gaza “as soon as possible”. The paper says the US vetoes a UN resolution for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire. 

Alexei Navalny’s mother is pictured on the front page, asking the Russian president to release her son’s body. Her plea comes amid claims the Kremlin critic may have been killed by a punch to the heart, a technique once taught to Soviet Union intelligence operatives.

Elsewhere, the paper also reports a body has been found in the River Thames, believed to be that of the man police were hunting in relation to a chemical attack in London.
