Former Arsenal defender William Gallas has explained what he thinks Mikel Arteta will tell his players ahead of the Gunners’ clash with Brentford.
The north London side lost their second Premier League match of the season on Saturday with a 1-0 loss to struggling Everton in Sean Dyche’s first game as boss.
Arsenal held onto their five-point lead at the top of the table, though, after second-placed Manchester City also suffered defeat at Tottenham on Sunday.
The Gunners still have a game in hand over Pep Guardiola’s side too – and ahead of Arsenal’s next match against seventh-placed Brentford on Saturday – Gallas has revealed what Arteta will tell his squad as they look to return to winning ways.
‘I was concerned about the game against Everton before the match, because after they had beaten Manchester United 3-2, I wanted to know if Arsenal can win against teams at the bottom and unfortunately that didn’t happen,’ Gallas told Genting Casino.
‘I think Everton played very well. It was difficult for Arsenal to come back.
‘Now when Arsenal play some of the smaller teams, it will be more difficult because everybody wants to beat them.

‘They have to be careful about the next game against Brentford. If they want to be champions, they will have to win.
‘They just have to come back with the strong mentality that they were showing before.
‘Arteta will definitely have words with the players, which will go along the lines of: ‘Listen guys, against Everton, we lost three points and it can’t happen again.
‘Against Brentford, we have to be ready from the first minute and fight for every ball and increase the level to beat Brentford, otherwise it will be the same problem‘.
‘Arsenal have to win that game. Brentford can score at any time because they play very well and are a strong team.
‘I think when they play against Arsenal at home, they will give the Gunners a hard time. Ultimately, I think Arsenal will win 2-1.’
