*Warning: This contains spoilers for Happy Valley season 3 episode 3.*
While Catherine Cawood (Sarah Lancashire) has been obsessing over Tommy Lee Royce (James Norton), it appears another killer may have slipped our grasp in Happy Valley.
After the sergeant confronted her sister Clare (Siobahn Finneran) about accompanying Ryan (Rhys Connah) to visit his father with her boyfriend Neil (Con O’Neill), all hell broke loose.
Confiding in ex-husband Richard (Derek Riddell), Catherine vowed to never speak to Ryan again if he continued to see Tommy, after learning they had been in contact for years.
She promptly kicked Ryan out to live with Clare and Neil, but could not bring herself to tell him the true circumstances around his mother Becky’s death.
Elsewhere, a desperate Faisal (Amit Shah), who is in over his head trying to keep up with the Joneses by flogging drugs on the side, plotted with Joanna Hepworth (Mollie Winnard) to kill her abusive husband Rob (Mark Stanley).
But events took a very dark turn when Catherine, after arresting one of the Knežević family’s associates, decided to call the Hepworth family about Joanna’s drug test, prompting Faisal to panic.

Catherine made it very clear that under no circumstances would she condone an ongoing relationship between Ryan and Tommy.
Horrified after hinting at Tommy’s evil past behaviour, including the brutal murder of officer Kirsten McAskill (Sophie Rundle), Catherine can’t fathom why Ryan has chosen to see him behind the bars.
The cop gives her grandson an ultimatum: stop seeing Tommy or she will never speak to him again.
Will Faisal actually kill Joanna?
Joanna has reached breaking point with her husband Rob (Picture: BBC/Lookout Point/Matt Squire)
After Joanna revealed she had lied about telling Rob about Faisal’s drug dealing, the pharmacist flipped a lid.
When she argued back, Faisal became violent, grabbing a rolling pin until she was left unconscious on the kitchen floor.
But when he heard Catherine’s voice message on the answer phone, fearing Joanna would go on to spill his illegal operation, he reached for the lethal injection he had brought round to ‘finish off’ Rob.
Will he actually go through with it?
Will Catherine be forced to tell Ryan the truth about his mother’s death?
Ryan has so far been kept in the dark about his mother Becky (Picture: BBC/Lookout Point/Matt Squire)
Ryan was born after Tommy brutally raped his mother Becky, with Catherine blaming the psychopath for her daughter’s death by suicide.
To protect Ryan, Catherine has decided not to reveal the circumstances around his conception or his mother, instead telling him she died in childbirth.
But now Ryan is visiting his father, will Catherine ultimately decide to tell him everything?
Are the Kneževićs edging closer to being shut down?
The Kneževićs are linked to a series of crimes in Yorkshire (Picture: BBC/Lookout Point/Matt Squire)
The officers scored a major coup when they managed to arrest one of the Halifax gang family’s associates on the suspicion of murder.
The criminal had been pretending to be the boyfriend of a blind woman, in order to stash cash in her house, but she fell from a window and died while trying to escape after she found out.
Catherine managed to outwit the murder suspect and catch him as he tried to flee, eventually arresting him and taking him into custody.
