Olivia Attwood and Chris Hughes were one of the most popular couples from Love Island 2017 but the couple’s relationship ended up being short-lived.
The pair left the villa as a couple but split around seven months later after a tumultuous time in the outside world.
Olivia and Chris ended things in February 2018 after filming their own spin-off reality show about their life after Love Island, after not being able to make it work as a couple.
Why did Olivia Attwood and Chris Hughes split?
Although there were rocky times in their seven-month romance, Olivia has ultimately put their break-up down to ‘incompatibility’ overall.
Olivia, who got back together with her ex Bradley Dack after splitting with Chris, opened up about why things didn’t work out.

She explained to MailOnline last year: ‘It was toxic with Chris and we argued a lot. I never had that problem with Brad, we never argued.
‘I was just incompatible with Chris. You meet on this show and things are very different in the real world. You think ‘oh s**t do we actually have stuff in common?’ It wasn’t meant to be.’
Olivia added that her relationship with Chris ended up being a catalyst for her and Bradley to get back together, adding: ‘I thought when I was in Love Island that was it.
‘I was so done with [Bradley] but then I ended up in another relationship [with Chris] that ended up being so toxic and all-consuming. And sometimes that’s what happens and it pushes you back to your ex.

‘After that we needed a good year to find our footing as a couple again. I still wasn’t sure.’
Chris and Olivia had faced setbacks throughout their romance, with sources on Chris’s side claiming Olivia had been texting Bradley during their relationship.
Sources close to Olivia had claimed Chris had ‘publicly humiliated her on many occasions’ including by allegedly messaging Katie Price as well as kissing another girl and embarrassing her with his behaviour at work events.
They also claimed that Olivia felt like Chris had dated her for the professional opportunities that would arise if they left the villa in a relationship together.
