When Kane is not on the pitch for England, the captaincy has been shared between members of the leadership group including Jordan Henderson, Raheem Sterling, Harry Maguire and Conor Coady.
Despite being the captain of the nation team, Kane does not wear the armband for Tottenham – that responsibility belongs to French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
Before being given the captaincy on a permanent basis, Kane first captained England in a World Cup qualifier against Scotland at Hampden Park in June 2017.
