For many, spring bank holidays represent a treat in a long weekend – an extra late night, an extra lie-in, and maybe even an extra trip out shopping on Monday.
Though we have had quite a few bank holidays this year, the next one in England and Wales is set to take place on May 29, 2023.
However, many shops alter their opening times over bank holidays, which can sometimes trip up your last-minute plans for DIY, clothes shopping, or anything else.
As such, it’s worth looking into the opening hours of whichever establishment you plan to have your retail therapy take place in to ensure you aren’t greeted with a ‘we’re closed’ sign.
So, which shops are open during the upcoming bank holiday, and what are their opening hours?
Here is what you need to know.
Are the shops open on bank holiday Monday?
Fortunately, many shops in England do choose to open on this bank holiday Monday, as there are looser trading laws than on other occasions, like Easter Sunday.
It’s also likely you’ll see more shops open than we did over the King’s Coronation bank holiday weekend.
