Arsenal star Reiss Nelson is attracting interest from a number of clubs home and abroad with his contract up in the summer.
Nelson has made just seven appearances for the Gunners this season, only three of them starts, having suffered with several thigh injuries during the campaign.
Despite his limited minutes, the attacking midfielder has shown his quality, coming off the bench to score a brace and grab an assist in the 5-0 win over Nottingham Forest back in October.
But even when fit, he is down the pecking order at the Emirates, and has fallen even further behind with the arrival of Leandro Trossard in January.
Given all that, it has been reported that Arsenal are not in any hurry to extend Nelson’s contract which expires at the end of the season, though the 23-year-old’s preference is to stay at his boyhood club.
‘I feel like Arsenal is the club for me at this moment in time. I have been here for so long and I’m very comfortable here,’ Nelson said in December.
‘Of course, I want to play games and I want to play week in, week out, but I feel like at this moment in time I am at a place where I am only going to get better.

‘I am an Arsenal fan and, of course, I want to sign a new contract at the club. I am just going to be ready for anything I get now and give my all for the team.’
If he does leave however, he will not be short of suitors, with Fabrizio Romano claiming that two Premier League sides and at least three abroad clubs are interested in signing Nelson on a free.
Additionally, other reports say that West Ham are one of those interested parties though that will surely depend on whether they remain in the top-flight, with the Irons currently 16th and only two points above the relegation zone.
Nelson missed Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Brentford on Saturday, but Mikel Arteta recently confirmed that he is near to returning from injury, saying: ‘The ones that they were long time like Emile [Smith Rowe], Reiss and Gabi [Jesus] they are closer.
‘They started to do some work outside but they are not ready to contribute yet.’
The Gunners are next in action on Wednesday as they host Manchester City in a pivotal game in the title race.
