LONDON BRIDGE TERRORISTS WERE LAWFULLY KILLED, SAYS JURY
The Guardian leads with the findings of an inquest jury over the killing of three terrorists. The Jury has said the three terrorists were lawfully shot dead by officers during the London Bridge rampage in 2017. The attack killed eight people in what The Guardian describes as “ten minutes of carnage.”
The jury heard evidence that the terrorists ignored clear warning shouts and continued to charge at the armed police. Firing continued after the three terrorists were down due to fear that they were wearing suicide vests and movement suggested they were still trying to detonate them.
The three armed officers were praised by The City of London police commander, Karen Baxter: “On their arrival, they stopped the threat within 10 seconds which undoubtedly saved the lives of others.”
