Wednesday fans have a theory that Enid is trans-coded (Picture: Netflix)
It’s been smashing viewing records so it shouldn’t be a surprise that fans of Wednesday are pulling apart the series and offering up their theories.
Now, many are convinced that upon closer inspection that one of the main characters, Enid, she is actually trans coded, pointing to suggestions they might be trans without it being canonically stated.
Since being released last month Wednesday has broken viewing records and left many people obsessed with pulling apart everything about the show.
A spin-off of the Addams Family, it stars Jenna Ortega as the titular Wednesday, a teenager who is sent to Nevermore Academy and soon finds herself caught up in a killing spree and centuries-old mystery.
Right by her side is her roommate Enid (Emma Myers), a bright and sweet student who finds herself at odds with Wednesday at times due to her love of rainbows and snoods.
While fans have been speculating about whether Wednesday is neurodivergent-coded, they’ve also been discussing whether her friend is trans-coded too.

Introduced in the first episode, Enid is a werewolf who has had some trouble transitioning into her supernatural form.
That storyline was enough to first spark the idea Enid might be trans, but there were other signs that also signalled it.
Aside from her room being a total explosion of colour, Enid’s striking hair is also noticeable as being near identical to the trans flag.
Blonde in the middle, it has blue ends on one side and pink on the other.
Later in the series Enid’s parents also visit the school and consider sending her to werewolf ‘conversion therapy’ camp.

Disappointed with the fact that she hasn’t ‘wolf-ed out’ yet, they speak about what can be done to make sure she is ‘normal’ and follow the same path as her older siblings.
This then sparks concerns from the teenager that her parents don’t accept her for who she is.
Throughout the series Enid also wears several rainbow jumpers, including one that bears a resemblance to the lesbian flag.

‘Is Enid from Wednesday a trans lesbian yes or yes answer quickly,’ one Twitter user wrote, while plenty of others also voiced their opinions.
Another user summed up all of their reasoning for the theory.
Some have also previously called out for a romance to develop between Enid and Wednesday in the second season after emotional scenes played out between them.
