UK weather forecast: Storm Arwen’s 80mph gales and snow to pose ‘danger to life’
The Daily Mirror says Britain is set to be battered by snow, blizzards and gales of up to 80mph from Storm Arwen this weekend with ‘danger to life’ warnings in place and fears over travel chaos.
The temperature has been dropping with weather charts showing sub zero temperatures in parts of the country and it could get as low as -4C on Friday.
The Met Office has issued an amber wind warning for parts of north-east England and Scotland from Friday afternoon until Saturday morning as a result of Storm Arwen.
The forecaster warned that flying debris leading to injuries or danger to life is “likely”, with people also told to expect damage to trees and buildings, public transport cancellations, road and bridge closures, power cuts and large waves.
