China warns the United States after President Trump signs Hong Kong bill
China has issued a warning to the United States after President Trump signed the Human Rights and Democracy Act into law.
The bill means the US will now keep an eye on Beijing’s actions in Hong Kong and could strip Hong Kong of its special trading status with the US if China undermines the city’s rights and freedoms.
China has warned it could take “firm countermeasures” if the US continues to show support to the Hong Kong unrest.
