Victoria’s Secret model Ali Tate Cutler filmed one of her last meetings with her grandmother, who she affectionally calls ‘Bubbie’, before she ends her life in Canada.
Over the past few days, 33-year-old Ali has been sharing powerful videos on social media in which her grandma, who is terminally ill with cancer, answers questions about her decision to seek euthanasia.
In a video posted on TikTok on Friday (May 19) Ali, who is based in Texas, said that the next day would be the last time she ever saw her grandmother, who flew to Canada on Saturday, meaning the videos the runway star shared with her fans were some of their last moments together.
In one of her most recent Instagram videos, Ali asked her gran a range of questions about her decision to seek assisted suicide, from the ins and outs of the procedure to whether she’d prefer to have it carried out at home or in the hospital.
Ali captioned her post: ‘I will treasure this conversation forever. TBH, I was very resistant to euthanasia before she told me her decision.
‘It felt unethical to me. But I have had my mind changed after hearing her reasons and I’m so happy that she has the option available in Canada.

‘How to live well and die well are codes, and she has given me knowledge on both. To the Goat.’
The model was inundated with support, with one person writing beneath the clip: ‘Thanks for sharing this. I’ve never seen anything like this before. She’s an amazing woman. Lots of love.’
Another added: ‘Thank you for sharing such a vulnerable experience to open up this conversation. Sending love to you and your family.’
‘Sending you so much love Ali, this must be tough but I love that you two shared this conversation with us, thank you,’ someone else wrote.

Ali, who is best known for being Victoria’s Secret’s first plus-size model, took to her Instagram Stories on Monday to discuss the importance of breaking taboos around death, but did not mention her grandmother.
Canada introduced its medical assistance in dying law (MAID) in 2021 and to be eligible for MAID two independent healthcare professionals must agree they qualify.
A person does not have to be terminally ill to qualify for MAID and there are different procedural safeguards in place, from medical assessments to written requests.
However, if a person’s sole underlying condition is mental illness, they are not eligible for MAID.
