Many of Thursday’s papers lead on the health secretary’s warning that if not enough people get vaccinated, it is more likely that Covid restrictions will be reintroduced in England.

Experts have warned that the government must act now to fight rising COVID-19 cases, the Daily Mirror reports. According to The Guardian, politicians have a responsibility to wear masks and set an example.

The Daily Express reports during his COVID-19 news conference, the first in five weeks, Sajid Javid unveiled two antiviral drugs to bolster the winter COVID-19 battle.  The Daily Mail also leads on news of the 730,000 doses of the Molnupiravir and Pfizer antiviral coronavirus drug. 

Sajid Javid has warned that restrictions could return in the run-up to Christmas, as infections hit almost 50,000, reports the Independent
