Shamima Begum insists she ‘didn’t hate Britain’ when she fled to Syria
The Metro says Shamima Begum has insisted she ‘didn’t hate Britain’ when she travelled to Syria to join Isis as a teenager.
The 22-year-old left her home in east London as a 15-year-old schoolgirl in 2015.
In an interview with Sky News, she said she was promised ‘paradise, basically’, but instead found ‘hell, hell on earth’.
She also repeated her denial of accusations that she carried out atrocities as part of the terror group, saying they are ‘all completely false’.
