Four people killed in crash as car catches fire in field

The Metro says four people died in a crash which left their car on fire in a field in Bedfordshire.

The suspected single-vehicle crash happened in the early hours of Sunday morning near the Flying Fox roundabout on the A5.

Police said the ‘highly complex work’ of recovering the occupants would continue for a third day on Tuesday.

Officers, firefighters and paramedics rushed to the field close to the village of Heath and Reach, near Leighton Buzzard at 3.40am.
