    The Metro leads with the big news the UK has vaccinated a third of the population with both shots. The paper says it means Britain is back on track.

    The front page also covers the Eurovision scandal and the Belarus hijacking of the Ryanair plane.

    Third immunity – UK vaccinate third of population, rules easing on track

    The Metro’s lead story reports on the UK reaching the milestone of a third of the population being vaccinated with both shots against Covid-19. 

    The paper says it means the timetable for ending restrictions is back on track after fears rose around the more transmissible Indian variant. 

    Winners noses put out

    The paper takes a swipe at the alleged cocaine scandal after the lead singer of the Eurovision winning band appeared to be caught on camera snorting cocaine. 

    Belarus ‘hijacks’ hols jet

    The paper reports on the Belarus Hijacking of the Ryanair plane carrying Belarusian activist. The paper says the Belarus President is being accused of the hijacking so he could have the activist, a key opponent, arrested.

    Jewish group blasts Tommy Robinson after he attends pro-Israel march

    Online, the Metro reports Tommy Robinson took part in a march supporting Israel which clashed with pro-Palestinian protesters on Sunday. 

    But a prominent Jewish group said he was ‘not welcome; at the event in London and slammed his ‘bigoty’.

    Police officers stepped in after a small group of people chanting ‘free Palestine’ approached a gathering of Israel supporters in Kensington High Street.

    There’s an update on the horror cable car crash in Italy, as the victims are identified. 

    The Metro online says three couples were amongst those killed, including a doctor who had been working on the frontline of the pandemic. 

    Parents who take kids on Spain holidays ‘can avoid fines if they isolate’

    According to the Metro, parents who take their children on half-term holidays to Spain can avoid fines if they keep them home to quarantine. 

    Spain is to welcome back British tourists from tomorrow and it has sparked concerns families could flock there for the half-term break. Spain remains on the UK’s ‘amber list’ meaning travellers must isolate for 10 days upon their return and take two covid tests during that time.
