Today’s news summary – Paper Talk

Wednesday’s front pages are heavily dominated by the latest No 10 party scandal. The fall-out from the leaked email proved a garden drinks party was held in Downing Street during the first national lockdown.

The Sun claims Boris Johnson has gone into hiding as he battles the worst crisis of his premiership following the lockdown party revelations.

The Daily Express claims Boris Johnson will attempt to calm the “partygate” storm dominating the political agenda – and insists support for the PM is still strong within the Conservative party.

Senior Conservatives are calling on Boris Johnson to publicly confess he attended the lockdown rule-breaking garden party at Downing Street, The Guardian reports.

Downing Street staff were ‘told to clean up their phones’ in a bid to remove data that could indicate lockdown parties were held at Number 10, The Independent reports.

The party is over for Boris Johnson as public fury erupts over Downing Street lockdown gatherings, the Daily Mirror reports.

The Metro leads on the backlash over “partygate” – as 66% of people in a snap poll demanded the prime minister resign.
