According to the Times, industry sources predict the taxpayer could face a bill of “several billion pounds” to help energy companies weather the storm.

The Daily Mail argues the idea of no turkeys at Christmas due to the rising gas prices is “a shocking indictment of Britain’s energy policy.”
In other news, the PM’s first visit to the White House since Joe Biden became president is the lead story for the Telegraph.
