The search and rescue operation was launched in UK waters in freezing conditions after reports came in at about 03:40 GMT. The BBC reported they had heard there has been deaths but authorities have not yet confirmed this.

Explosions in Kyiv as Russia uses Kamikaze drones
Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko has confirmed explosions were heard in central Kyiv early Wednesday. President Zelensky said Ukrainian forces had shot down 13 Iranian-made Shahed drones, which he says amounted to all those launched by Russia early on Wednesday. The US is preparing to arm Ukraine with its state-of-the-art Patriot air defence system. Russia has warned the US against this, it’s likely the Kremlin will see this as an escalation in the war.

Argentina into World Cup final as legend Messi makes announcement
Argentina beat Croatia 3-0 in yesterday’s semi-final of the World Cup, meaning they will face either Morocco or France (who play tonight) in the 2022 Qatar World Cup. Argentina captain Lionel Messi announced Sunday’s final will be his last match for the national team. “I am very happy for finishing my journey in World Cups in a final, to play the last game in a final. That is really very gratifying,” he said.

Elon Musk is no longer the world’s richest man. Is Twitter to blame?
Elon Musk has lost his title of world’s richest man after a sharp drop in the value of his shares in the car company Tesla. Both Forbes and Bloomberg says Mr Musk has lost the top spot to Bernard Arnault. “The Twitter circus show has hurt the Musk brand and it’s a major overhang on Tesla’s stock. Musk is Tesla and Tesla is Musk.”
