Three Hollyoaks bosses have left the show.
It was confirmed earlier today that Lucy Allan, who has been the Channel 4 soap’s executive producer for two and a half years, had stepped down, stating that she ‘loved’ her time as boss.
Metro.co.uk understands that series producer Philip Dodds and script and storyline executive Josie Day have also left the Channel 4 soap, with a number of changes at the top having taken place.
An Insider told The Sun that this was due to ratings having ‘plunged’ and storylines which ‘weren’t working’.
Hollyoaks, however, has revealed that they combine viewership from both Channel 4 and E4 airings and that the soap is still very popular with streaming audiences, with views up 55% year on year since episodes started dropping first on All4.
Discussing her decision to leave, Lucy said: ‘I have loved my time as executive producer on Hollyoaks.
‘It’s one of the most exciting jobs in Soapland but after two and half years at the helm it’s time to pass on the baton.’

Lucy, who took over the role in 2021, has helmed a number of powerful episodes and storylines since taking the reins.
The Long Walk Home episode, Misbah Maalik’s rape storyline and the stunt week that saw iconic serial killer Silas Blissett meet his maker after a decade of terror all spring to mind.

Managing directors of Lime Pictures, Kate Little and Claire Poyser said: ‘We would like to thank Lucy for everything she has done for Hollyoaks, leading the programme through Covid and its aftermath, forging a ground-breaking partnership with the BBC and Eurovision and delivering unforgettable, critically acclaimed storylines such as Misbah’s Rape and The Long Walk Home.
‘We will miss her but wish her all the very best in her next adventure.’
Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6:30pm on Channel 4, with first look offerings available from 7pm on E4. Stream episodes first on All4 from midnight.
