Three children who went missing after a day out at Thorpe Park have been found safe and well in London.

Malik, seven, Amelia, nine, and Khandi, 14, were last seen yesterday afternoon having travelled to the park from Milton Keynes.

Police said the children ‘may have travelled to London’ after they were last seen walking towards Staines from the park in Chertsey.

The trio were spotted leaving the amusement park towards Staines town centre nearly two miles north at 3.17pm.

Police confirmed today that the girls have since been found in London.

North Surrey Detective Superintendent Trevor Struthers said: ‘We appreciate the concern that this incident caused, especially given the children’s ages and the fact that they were missing overnight.

‘Our officers and staff have worked tirelessly to locate the three of them and we are all relieved that they have been found safe.

‘We have received a huge amount of information and information and support from both the public and the media and we would like to thank everyone who provided information and shared our appeal.’

Sam Williams, who owns the florist House of Flowers in Chertsey, claimed on Facebook that she saw the girls at around 3.50pm. They came in asking for directions to the train station, the MailOnline reported.

CCTV from the store, which was not shared by police, showed who appears to be Khandi walking into the shop while holding her phone followed by Amelia.

Williams told the tabloid: ‘They did not seem in any rush or panic. The elder girl did all the talking and they left after a short time and turned right out of the shop towards the train station.’

Police had believed the youngsters were heading to London. Trains to the capital leave Staines every five minutes, taking 34 minutes to get to London.
