The Guardian- Thousands miss top grades as A-level results plummet

The Guardian leads on the news that thousands of students missed out on top A-level grades after results tumbled following the decision to enforce pre-pandemic grading.

The paper adds Education Secretary Gillian Keegan was accused of “adding insult to injury” for suggesting no-one would be interested in pupils’ exam results in 10 years. 

The front page also covers the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC) launching a review into its handling of the case of Andrew Malkinson – wrongly jailed for rape – after it twice failed to refer his case to the Court of Appeal.
