Users have been raving about this expert-designed ‘hammock’ for ridding their neck pain and headaches in a flash and we can’t help but be intrigued.

The Neck Hammock is what it says on the tin: it claims to alleviate neck pain, with some shoppers saying it also helps relieve tension headaches in as little as 10 minutes.

Ok, we have to see this.

Whether you’ve cricked your neck in your sleep, or taking a snooze on planes, trains or in new places has caused issues, it can be frustrating to have to wait until a literal pain in the neck sorts itself out. Apparently what we needed all this time was this contraption.

The hammock was created by Dr Steven Sudell Jr, who has a clinical doctorate in physical therapy, as an easy and affordable way to treat neck pain at home.

As a physical therapist, he found he could treat issues at the gym, but there was nothing he could give people to aid pain at home.

Either big and bulky, or expensive *or* cheaply-designed and ineffective, one day he had a big idea for The Neck Hammock after tweaking his own neck at home.

What the heck is it, you ask? Great question. The doc has come up with a portable device that attaches to any door, rail, or pole. And you only need to use it for 10 minutes a day to apparently feel the benefits, according to the brand.

Our expert sleuthing shows it’s currently available here in a bundle for £39.68 (on sale from £63.49). The brand’s website also outlines how to use the hammock as well as makes clear those who shouldn’t use it, such as people with spinal instability and those under the age of 16.

Sure it looks like an intriguing device (and we’d always urge you to see your doctor before trying it, to make sure you’re all cleared), but reviews for the product are evidently pretty positive, with over 95% of reviewers giving the product five stars.

One shopper claimed: ‘Just hang The Neck Hammock on your door, insert your head, set a timer for 10-15 minutes, and voila! After a few short sessions, you’ll start to feel the ache in your neck melt away like ice on a hot summer’s day.’

‘I’ve struggled with a bad neck for years and traction has been one of the most effective treatments. I was so excited to learn about Neck Hammock and decided to give it a try.

‘This product works just like traction, but is much more relaxing! It provides a gentle stretch that loosens muscles and relieves tension. I also like that this little device is portable and lightweight – super easy to travel with! I’m telling all of my friends about it – it works!’

While another very excited user enthused: ‘I’ve been counting down the days until this arrived and I must say…… it’s AWESOME!!!! Even after one use, I could feel the relief from the tension releasing in my neck. I’m an avid CrossFit goer so this even helps prime me for overhead workouts as well!’

And a third wrote: ‘I bought this for my boyfriend who has been having neck and shoulder pain. I decided to use it after days of tension headaches. I have to say, this helped relieve the headaches.

‘It’s nice to come home from staring at a computer all day to relax in the hammock. It takes all the stress off my neck. Would recommend for those that suffer from headaches like me.’

Yeah, but how does The Neck Hammock work?

The Neck Hammock uses cervical traction to help alleviate pain, which is a method of applying a distraction force for those who may be suffering from arthritis, herniated and/or bulging discs, cervical muscle strains and spasms.

Cervical traction equipment works by gently pulling the head away from the neck. By doing so, the muscles along the spinal cord begin to relax and gradually stretch, along with ligaments around the spine, and the blood flows to areas which were being compressed – this helps oxygenate muscles, nerves, tendons and ligaments.

This, one would hope, leads to a decrease in pain and an increase in mobility.

We’re feeling limber just looking at it.
