Gareth Southgate led the England national team to their first final of a major tournament in 55 years and although we lost on penalties to Italy – Southgate and the Three Lions reconnected the team with the nation and brought the game home.
G7 summit
World leaders met at the 47th G7 summit, hosted by the United Kingdom. What was agreed: G7 countries committed to net zero carbon emissions no later than 2050 and to halve their collective emissions by 2030. There was also a commitment to conserve or protect at least 30% of land and oceans by 2030.
