The Traitors producer Stephen Lambert has hinted that a second series could be on its way, after the roaring success of season one of Claudia Winkleman’s murder mystery game.
After having the nation hooked throughout 12 episodes, The Traitors came to a devastating end before Christmas, and left fans begging for more.
The finale saw Meryl Williams, Aaron Evans and Hannah Byczkowski managing to identify and banish all of the Traitors, walking away with a share of the £101,050 prize pool.
It was recently rumoured that a celeb spin-off may be in the works, however it has since been confirmed that no stars will be sitting around that roundtable any time soon.
But, it seems like there may be talks going on about a second season.
Speaking to Ros Atkins on BBC podcast The Media Show, CEO of Studio Lambert, the production company behind The Traitors, Stephen replied to the question we’ve all got on our minds: ‘I assume a second series has been ordered by the BBC or will be shortly?’

He replied: ‘They’re making the right noises.’

While season two hasn’t yet been confirmed, the producers recently admitted to Metro.co.uk that they would love to have a spin-off chat show or a reunion stemming from the programme, which fans have been desperate for.

‘We’d love one!’ Sarah Fay and Toni Ireland echoed in an exclusive chat, with Sarah continuing: ‘For a first series, we were always incredibly hopeful it will do well but you just never know.
‘So in our wildest dreams, we’d never imagined it would be this big.’
This comes after immense success from series one as the opening episode did manage to attract a somewhat respectable 2.9 million viewers, but it’s now been seen by over five million viewers who have caught up on iPlayer, according to the BBC.
