Maddy couldn’t keep her past as an actress secret any longer (Picture: BBC)
The Traitors star Maddy has revealed that she works as an actress and has had roles in EastEnders and Casualty.
Maddy is one of the Faithfuls trying to ‘banish’ the Traitors before they get to the cash prize of £120,000 in the gripping show presented by Claudia Winkleman.
The reality TV contestant had previously told her fellow housemates, who are all living in a lavish Scottish Highlands castle, that she worked full-time in a care home, and declined to disclose her other job.
While it’s very much the truth that Maddy works at a care home, the performance played homeless character Rita in an episode in EastEnders and ‘someone without a womb’ in Casualty.
Reflecting on her career on The Traitors, she said: ‘And I feel like it means I can spot when someone is putting on a performance.’
However, on Thursday’s The Traitors Maddy couldn’t keep it secret any longer and told contestants, including Theo, Amanda and Meryl, that she has appeared on screen.

Before learning that Alex Gray, 26, was the latest to be ‘murdered’ by Traitors Wilfred and Amanda, after declining their offer to join the dark side, Maddy piped up: ‘I do want to say guys I’m working in a care home but I have done some acting work.’
Around the table, the stars looked non-plussed but later expressed their doubts about Maddy’s credibility, with Theo saying he had ‘built up trust’ with her only to have been faced with a ‘bombshell.’
Maddy explained: ‘I didn’t want you to think I was dodgy if I came in here and said I was an actor. I’ve played it as myself.’

Amanda, however, was rubbing her hands with glee, telling fans she can use this revelation to plant seeds of doubt in the Faithfuls’ minds about Maddy.
She added: ‘It was quite a shock as another layer was peeled off.’

In other The Traitors-related news, Meryl, 25, dished the dirt about what goes on behind the scenes when the camera stops rolling.
The star revealed while they did drink booze it was ‘rationed’ and that they were able to enjoy a day off all the action on Sunday but were banned from their own phones throughout production.
The Traitors continues tomorrow at 9pm on BBC One.
