The Traitors proved Maddy Smedley might be the perfect candidate if MI5 come calling, however she’s reminded us that her passion lies with acting after releasing some comedy sketches she made in lockdown.
Throughout the reality series, Maddy picked up plenty of fans for her dogged pursuit of Wilfred Webster, who she suspected of being a Traitor, but for all the wrong reasons.
Her sleuthing may have been on point, but Maddy Marple – as she dubbed herself was – was banished before her theory could be proved.
But aside from working to weed out people who stood in her way of winning prize money, she also revealed that she had a secret of her own—that she was an actress.
Now she’s released sketches that she made back in 2020, which also features some colourful language at times.
‘Here are some of the comedy sketches I made up during lockdown whilst working for hello hello food,’ she posted on Twitter.
In the first one-minute sketch Maddy pretends to be a call centre worker trying to sell some goods, but is met with some rather unfriendly potential customers.
In one exchange she pretends to call a lady named Sophie, who tells Maddy to ‘go f** yourself’, before promptly hanging up.
‘That’s not very nice is it,’ Maddy says to the camera.
She then tries to get in contact with someone else but is met with an answering machine, however she doesn’t seem to mind and says it gives her time to ‘have another onion ring’.

Maddy then has to assure another person she isn’t a robot, while she also tells those watching that she likes ‘to play a game’ with some calls and insert random words into a conversation.
‘My best one today has got to be Bruce Willis Die Hard 4. Look I don’t know how I did it, but it’s the best one I’ve ever done,’ she said.
Her skit has been met with love by fans, with one commenting: ‘You are completely ace’.
Another said it was ‘10/10’ and that they would ‘watch this mockumentary series on BBC3’.

With four sketches in her series shared, the others included her being brushed off by a lady claiming to be in a meeting at 7pm and also getting stuck on the phone with another lady who seemed to be having some issues with her ‘tomatoes and the chicken and the veg’.
But Maddy seems to be getting overworked in the call centre, sharing she ‘hasn’t had a break in five hours’, but is determined to keep going (even if it means she misses a toilet break) so she can win a ‘£5 Amazon voucher’.
When talking about her passion for being in front of the camera on The Traitors, the receptionist revealed that she had already found some success on two soaps.
‘My main passion is acting,’ she said.

‘I played Rita in EastEnders, a homeless woman, and also I played someone without a womb in Casualty.’
She also added that she felt her experience meant she ‘can spot when someone is putting on a performance’.
