    The Times leads with reports the lockdown lifting in England is set to be delayed by at least a fortnight. Online the paper leads with Boris Johnson pressures G7 to sign the climate Marshall plan.

    Lockdown lifting set to be delayed by 2 weeks

    The Times reports the lockdown lifting set for 21 June in England could be delayed for a fortnight. The paper says Prof Chris Whitty and Sir Patrick Vallance gave a briefing to ministers that was described as “fairly grim” by one source. The source says they expect a delay of between two weeks and a month but as long as the reopening happens before the summer holidays then the political fall out will be limited.

    The Times’ front splash reports the first new drug for Alzheimer’s disease in nearly 20 years cleared a big hurdle yesterday, the paper adds the news offers fresh hope for patients in Britain and millions worldwide.

    PM speaks up for cricketer banned for racist tweet 

    Sharing the front page is the news the prime minister called on the ECB to rethink their decision on suspending cricketer Ollie Robinson. The paper notes the tweets are over a decade old and were written by a teenager.

    The Times says more than 1,500 migrants who arrived in the UK illegally this year have been served with “notices of intent” to deport them, but none have yet been removed.
