The state missed chance after chance to stop Axel Rudakubana – then covered its errors, claims The Telegraph
When Britain’s security forces fail to protect us from domestic threats, the Government now turns to a well-worn playbook. Don’t look back in anger. Don’t let hate divide us. And whatever you do, don’t ask questions.
On July 29 last year, Axel Rudakubana viewed a video of a terrorist attack. He watched as a man yelling “Allahu Akbar” stabb a bishop in the head, neck and torso. Then he got in a taxi, rode to a dance class, walked in, and began to stab children.
He moved through the room “systematically stabbing as many as he could before they could escape”; 11 children were wounded, and three died.
FACT CHECK
The Telegraph is promoting a very hard right narrative, suggesting we are still in danger of Terror and the Labour government are incapable of dealing with such domestic terror threats. The fact remains the single biggest domestic threat we have is not Terror related, its emergency care related.
‘Britain’s security forces’, should actually be changed to the Police, who are responsible to for the safety of Brits, not the security forces, who mainly work to prevent more global and national threats. This crime was a domestic multiple murder crime not a terror attack. Suggesting ‘Terror’ changes the narrative.
