The Queen and President Biden to meet next week
The Queen and US President Joe Biden will meet next week, Buckingham Palace has said. The US president will be joined by his wife First Lady Jill Biden.
The meeting at Windsor Castle on Sunday 13 June coincides with the end of Biden’s UK visit for the G7 summit of leaders from the world’s biggest economies.
President Biden will be the 12th serving US president the Queen has met whilst sitting on the throne.
She has met all elected US presidents during her 69 years as monarch except for Lyndon B Johnson.
Buckingham Palace said in a short statement: “The Queen will meet the President of the United States of America and First Lady Jill Biden at Windsor Castle on Sunday 13 June 2021.”
