The Masked Singer viewers are basically willing to bet their houses that Piece of Cake is Lulu.
Theories are swirling all over the Twitterverse now the new series is underway, but the judges – Rita Ora, Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall and Jonathan Ross – are pretty clueless when it comes to Piece of Cake’s identity.
Audiences at home think they’ve sussed it, though, thanks to the star’s recognisable singing voice, as well as the clues in the VT.
At one point, Piece of Cake addressed viewers by saying: ‘Hello, lovers,’ which viewers reckon is a nod to her old band from the 1960s, The Luvvers.
Piece of Cake’s clue package also included her telling people to ‘Shh,’ which very switched on viewers linked to her hit song Shout, given that the two are opposites.
One person tweeted: ‘Piece of cake sounds like Lulu. She said “alright my lovers”. Lulu and The Luvvers was her band in the 60s.’

‘Clues for piece of cake – my lovers = Lulu and the Luvvers. Shhhhh = her best known song was “Shout”’, wrote another.
Bewildered at how the panel hadn’t clocked Lulu’s famous voice, another tweeted: ‘Convinced that Piece of Cake is Lulu. Not sure how the panel haven’t picked up on that.’
‘Shhhhhh is the opposite of Shout. Deffo Lulu’, proposed another.
Lulu, 74, shot to fame with her powerful singing voice in the UK, but soon became an icon around the world.

Her hits include Oh Me Oh My, To Sir With Love, Boom Bang a Bang, and, obviously, Shout, so she’s definitely capable of carrying a tune.
Not everyone is willing to put all their eggs in one basket though, as some other guesses included EastEnders star Rita Simons and Bonnie Langford.
What are your theories? Answers on postcards please…
The Masked Singer continues Saturdays on ITV.
